Their alphabets may be done in black and white, or in color. Julie Wildman is a graphic designer, artist, calligrapher, and teacher. She graduated with a BA in graphic design from Chicago’s Columbia College and now works from her home studio near Chicago. Her calligraphic journey began in the late ‘80s after a friend gave her Timothy Botts’ book Doorposts, where she saw the written word illustrated as she had never seen before. The journey continued in 1998 with Reggie Ezell’s class, and membership in the Chicago Calligraphy Collective soon after.

FRIENDS OF CALLIGRAPHY Fort Mason Classes Open to the public, these classes are meant for beginners and for scribes who wish to continue improving their skills. Basic supplies required by each student include: black ink such as Higgins Eternal, all sizes of Brause pen nibs, one or two pen holders, pencil and eraser, 18 or 24 inch metal ruler, notebook, cotton rag, a small water jar. There may be additional supplies specified by each instructor and are listed after each class description in the Fort Mason brochure. Calligraphy supplies, especially Brause pen nibs, can be difficult to find.

Personally I use Maya (I have the paid version but there is a lite version that has more than the required functionality for this) and FireAlpaca (just any old image editing software FireAlpaca is just the one that I use for drawing anyway). Cs go skin free. Feedbacks and comments are of course very welcome and always cheer me up. All the important information can be found on the link below. Just thought I'd be the guy who comes onto any thread with people bitching about needing paid programs and say that with just a little bit of using your own human brain you can actually do this with free programs. In case you find any mistakes or discover inaccurate content feel free to contact me and I will fix them immediately!
