This means our expenses also grow. We have grown from 16 sporting events in 1997 to over 50 events in 2013. We have more than 10,000 athletes participating in their respective sporting events, and more than 150,000 spectators enjoy all that LVSF has to offer. LVSF is held over a period of four days throughout the City of Allentown and at fields and other venues within the Lehigh Valley.
LVSF not only provides local athletes with the opportunity to compete but also provides a revenue stream for local businesses in the Lehigh Valley. LVSF invites athletes not only from the local community but from western Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, New Jersey, New York, Maryland and surrounding states. LVSF provides the venue, exposure, support and equipment to allow the athletes to compete at the highest level. LVSF provides benefits to sponsors and the community: • Good, clean, family recreation for participants, organizers and guests alike • Encourages participation of inner city high schools. Dieruff and William Allen High Schools' ROTC and cheerleaders serve as volunteers throughout the event. • Proceeds are used to upgrade various City Recreation Department functions and facilities that are used by organizations throughout the Lehigh Valley.
