How To Install Cobol In Windows 7

Jan 23, 2012. Student in need of a COBOL compiler to run under Windows 7 Professional 32 bit. NET to install on my home computer with no success.

I am planning to practice cobol in winows7.I installed ms cobol in my PC but it s throwing compatability error.And says you need 64bit cobol compiler to practice becoz my computer is 64bit one and cobol compler what am using is 32bit.I searched in google but am not clear what to install and how to practce at home.Please help me how i can practice cobol at home.Am desperatley in need of it.Plz plz help me. It will not run 16-bit programs, but you can install VirtualBOX (and install XP in that) to run them. Been there, done that, works like a charm. Did You the cdrom or the iso image with the installation CD but why not try open cobol. Not any more - just sources for building it yourself and they are all *nix - no Windoze. Either that or they are doing a good job of hiding the stuff!

As for most of the other offerings they are generally not compilers but convert the COBOL source to C then run it through the C compiler so you have to have a C compiler (that works).
